UPDATE Jan. 8th
  • Fixed the eyes a bit, just centered everything. The links below are the updated versions, just figured it'd be easier to leave them down there.

UPDATE Jan. 5th

Made a huge laundry list of small, quick improvements to the model including but not limited to:
  • Fixed the front position's chin.
  • Fixed the eyebrows on all of the positions so they either covered what they needed to or didn't cover what they should not have
  • Fixed some of the hoof and leg alignment, particularly on the back-facing position.
  • Added the sparkles to the horn, which were missing for some reason
  • Added a left side back position so it flows a lot more nicely in the turn
  • Added in a CS5.5 and CS5 version because I should have just done that in the beginning.

Before you ask, this got done very spur of the moment, but I'm very glad I notice and got it done. If there are problems still, let me know and I'll get on to fixing them.

UPDATE Dec 13th

I said I was going to update this bugger after Maudification and darn it all! That's exactly what I did! Here's the updated link for those who are interested.

Special thanks to :iconderekpony: for making a lot of the mouths for me. You saved me a lot of time!

As you can see by the crossed off lists below, I added as many leg positions and a basic set of mouth positions to the model. All of the leg positions are show accurate, and I got as many of the mouths as show accurate as possible too. The exceptions are some of the in-between mouth positions are shape tweened, but I made it a point to use as many show stills as possible to trace both the mouths and legs.

I'm not sure if I want to add any additional positions like the off-center back position and the 5/8th position. The reason being is because after viewing scene after scene after scene from the show, I haven't seen these kinds of positions, so unless I either need it or the demand is great, I think I'll pass on making them.

Finally, I am going to take care of a few things before I get to any of the walk cycles on the stallion model. I really want to do another animation before I get to the walk cycles. Stay tuned!

After about three weeks of work, I'm finally ready to unveil this guy.

First and foremost I have to give a lot of credit and thanks to TiredBrony, not just because his mare puppet provided a lot of inspiration and reference, but in a private message, he essentially was what kick started me to do this thing from scratch. Yes, this was all handmade, and just to make it crystal clear, there are no DHX assets to this. All of these pieces are handmade by me, save for the wings and horn . Yeah, I admit I imported the wings and horn from the aforementioned mare model. Those would have taken a lot longer for me to have made, and they are the same on the mare and stallion, so I figured there was no harm done. If there is, please let me know.

Before you ask, yes, there are things I definitely need to add onto this guy to make him as complete as the mare model. As far as I can tell, those things are:
  • Adding a 5/8, 7/8 and off-center back position.
  • Adding additional leg positions on the profile and 3/4 front in particular.
  • Adding additional mouths on all mouths.

And yes, I will also be adding in the walk cycles like I did for the mare, but who knows when I'll be getting to those.

For now, I want to start making some sketches I have in mind, so I'm going to be making some characters out of this model. Be on the look out in the future for some stuff I'll be making!

As always, feel free to leave some constructive criticism. I am still new to this and want to make this thing bullet-proof. One thing of particular need at the moment, if you can provide reference shots for the 5/8 and 7/8 position, I'd appreciate that, that or provide helpful knowledge on how to make those two positions, the first case preferably.

Thank you and take care!
